Abstract

The paper presents the results of studying flowing chromium-plating of internal surfaces of long-

length cylindrical parts in the electrolyte with superdispersed diamonds when a workpiece is

continuously rotating in the process of chromium-plating. Experimental samples were obtained

during the experiments carried out with such variable technological parameters as the electrolyte

temperature and the part rotation frequency. The estimation of porosity, micro-hardness, thickness

of chrome coatings and its uniformity as well as the precipitation structure was performed by the

method of scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that the use of superdispersed

diamonds and the implementation of part-cathode rotation in flowing chromium-plating made it

possible to increase servicing characteristics of coatings due to a decrease in grain sizes of the

chrome coating structure and in porosity, and due to an increase in microhardness, which confirms

the efficiency of using the suggested method of coating deposition and the given type of

superdispersed fillers in chromium-plating.
