Abstract

This article is based on the research of a geokhod prototype that is new kind of a tunnel shield.

The article contains the research results on production errors of an external body shell of an

intermediate unit. There are a brief description of the object of study and relevance of the research.

The importance of the task of ensuring accuracy of the shell is shown. The article includes the

description of techniques of experimental researches, data processing and data analysis. There are

formulas that are using for calculations of parameters of the mathematical models. This research is

made on a base of coordinate measurements of the geokhod prototype during a test production.

There are values of geometric errors of the external body shell and results of their statistical

analysis. It is showed in the article that the errors can be partially explained by the production errors

of body sectors and the errors of their relative assembling location. Also it is showed that the other

significant part of the errors is welding distortions.
