Abstract
The automation of the hot-dip tinning process carried out at the factory "Oksid" is described. The
features of the introduction of the hot-dip tinning automated line into fabricating the K52-2
capacitor cases are analyzed. It is revealed that the basket for machining parts in fluids needs
modernization. The existing basket for tinning parts does not completely remove liquid from
capacitor cases, which results in defective products. Based on the analysis of the experiments a new
basket for hot-dip tinning was designed and fabricated. The basket is made of the titanium alloy
VT6. This, firstly, made it possible to decrease the load on the air cylinder of the manipulator, and,
secondly, to ensure the resistance of the basket to high temperatures. Reducing the load on the air
cylinder of the manipulator is required for its stable operation during its dipping into fluids, and out
of them. The basket resistance to high temperatures is important for its mechanical properties to
remain unchanged when the basket works in a molten metal.
