Abstract

To restore worn parts and to give special properties of the surface it is desirable to have in the

deposited layer composition as close as possible to the composition of the deposited (filler) metal,

so it is necessary to strive for a minimum penetration of the base metal, i.e., to reduce the proportion

of the base metal in the weld metal. At present, an urgent task is to develop a technology

management deposited bead geometry. This paper presents methods for controlling the geometry of

the weld bead during surfacing consumable electrode. The comparative evaluation of the

geometrical parameters of the roller is welded for welding with traditional (single-jet) gas and two-

protection. The coefficients characterizing the shape of beads confirmed the influence of the

shielding gas flow rate on the formation of the deposited layer, particularly when the two- gas

protection.
