Abstract

The research dedicated for evaluating the accuracy of the metal sheet materials cutting using the

technology of high-precision plasma cutting scheme HiFocusplus. The results of experimental

studies of cutting edges squareness width the cutting thickness range from 4 to 20 mm for structural

steel St. 3 are presented. A significant cut squareness of deviation the left edge compared to the

declared value of the equipment manufacturer. It is proposed to choose the direction of plasmatron

moving along contour being processed so that the shaping of parts to realize by the right edge of the

cut. It is experimentally shown that when cutting of low carbon structural steel with the thickness

range of less than 14 mm and more than 20 mm precision cutting parameters and its cutting width

are not achieved, according to the manufacturer. A possible set of activities to improve the accuracy

of cutting in these ranges of thickness of the processed material proposed.
