Abstract
The paper describes the design calculation of electromagnetic motors with a geared structure of
the magnetic circuit used in the vibration machine drive. The presence of the tooth and slot area
provides precise positioning of work members. The purpose is to develop a method of design
calculation of the electromagnetic motor with a geared structure of the magnetic circuit. Based on
the research results we have analyzed an engineering approach to searching for rational geometric
relationships. The method allows obtaining structures with a minimum consumption of active
materials given maximum amplitude values of static thrust characteristics. An example of the
proposed calculation method is provided for a linear electromagnetic motor with an active tooth and
slot area. A calculation error in the proposed method does not exceed 10-15%. The investigation
results can be extensively used in the design of electromagnetic motors with a geared structure of
the magnetic circuit.
