THE INCREASE OF DRILLS WITH RMP OPERABILITY DUE TO THE CUTTING

PLATE EDGE PROFILE CHANGE

Abstract

When drillings in the volume tempered rails the problem – low operability of this type of the tool

arises combined drills with replaceable multiface plates from a firm alloy. The main reason for it is

presented in this article is existence of an unbalanced of cutting force radial component . The

technique of design of a profile of cutting plate edge based on compensation of an unbalanced radial

component of cutting force on each elementary working site of the cutting plate edge due to

formation of cutting edge slope in the plane of the cutting allowing to minimize an unbalanced

radial component of cutting force on each this site is offered. The flowchart for calculation of the

cutting plate edge profile is submitted. This technique allows to increase operability of the

composite drills on average for 30%.
