Abstract

The existing technologies of repair of worn-out blades of the last stages of steam turbines do not

provide a high degree of operational reliability. After repair of blades by welding the edges with the

installation of protective plates damage to the blades occurs in places of welding of plates, on the

holes for damping wire. The most common causes of damage are fatigue of metal and lack of

proper heat treatment prior to restoration. Considered typical cases of damage of the blades after the

repair. Recommended measures to improve operational properties after repair.
