Abstract

The article represents the modernization variants of 3B652 drill grinding machine for

opportunities to improve the accuracy of the clearance angle of sharpening drill tapered rear

surfaces, as well as to simplify sharpening technology.

In addition, the modernization of 3B652 drill sharpening machine provides the ability to

disconnect motion scenes for the oscillations of the quill spindle which allows to implement

sharpening of multi edge drills by the cross slide of the machine.

Sharpening of multi edge drills is possible if the dressing spindle shaped grinding wheels are

installed on the drill sharpening machine, according to the type of ruling devices used on universal

grinding machines. Mounting these correcting devices requires the use of the mounting screw while

drill adapter is attached to the plate by this screw to the cross slide. At the same time the case of

drill adapter is removed from the machine during the setting of the shaped grinding wheel.

Dial gauge (0.001) is also provided on the modernized machine capacity to control movement of

the cross slide for sharpening drills.
