The program module for creation of the composites of database

The article reflects the relevance of the research and development stages of a program complex for automation

of the production of products from composite materials using cutting edge tools. To the necessity of systematization of

the known composites, their properties and characteristics. Presents in detail the process of creating a software module

for formation of database of composite materials, with the ability to interactively create, edit, delete, search information

on the physico-mechanical and operational properties of composites. The article describes the technique of multi-

criteria analysis of composite materials, allowing to choose rational composite given its highest priority at the decision

point properties. In addition, the principle of operation of the software and UI features. Noted the future prospects of

theoretical and practical implementation of research results.

Today industry requires to use the constructional materials of high performance properties. The

metals and their alloys don’t meet the increased physical and mechanical properties requirements. The

composites have been replacing the traditional metallic structural materials. The modern composites as well

as the structures and products made of them are widely used in various industries (mechanical engineering,

aircraft industry, shipbuilding, etc.), because they have high specific strength and elastic properties, corro-

sion resistance, low thermal and electrical conductivity, good tribological properties, suited for developing

future techniques and technologies [1 – 3].

The preparation process of composite articles manufacture includes the steps connected with sound

technical and economic decision making to choose the construction material [4], the toll design and geome-

try [5, 6], technologies and modes of tool production [7 – 11] and edge cutting of composite articles [12 –

17]. While making synthesized decisions one should consider the stages of production preparation as it is

labour and time consuming process that requires processing large volume of information and often makes

manufacturers to stop or restrict the products making of composites. In this regard, to improve the efficiency

of this process it is necessary to automatize it [18 - 20].

To systematize the composites database we propose to use the knowledge concerning the basic

information about physical and mechanical properties of the composites, their cost, the manufacturers, the

material used by the manufacturer, etc., and which can be proved with the technical or reference books,

catalogs, or electronic resources. For this purpose we created a software module designed to work with the

composites database and is a tool which allows the user to fill, to edit, to delete and to search the composites

interactively. An example of a dialog window for working with the composites database is presented in Fig.

1.
